Cynthia Mohr, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Social Psychology

Biography Dr. Mohr received her B.A. from Smith College in Massachusetts in 1991 and her Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of Connecticut in 1999. Before coming to PSU, she was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Alcohol Research Center at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Her research concerns the processes by which interpersonal relationships
and interactions exert effects on psychological well-being and physical health. In her work, Dr. Mohr differentiates positive and negative interpersonal interactions and emotions and how they uniquely influence health, particularly
alcohol consumption. Dr. Mohr is currently conducting research on these
topics with an ethnically diverse sample of Portland-area residents.
